Ultrasound technology, coupling materials and predictive models, based on Machine learning, to non-invasively detect and monitor infections in serous fluids through the count of white blood cells. The initial focus is childhood meningitis (in collaboration with ISGlobal and the Hospital de San Juan de Dios, among others).
Similarly, it is also being validated for other types of applications, such as peritonitis (Hospital de Bellvitge) and uveitis (Hospital Trias i Pujol). The mechanism consists of a probe that includes an automatically guided mechanism. Thanks to it, structure recognition is obtained in real time, with minimal user interaction.
